Garland Jones

Garland Jones (All-World) 71, was called home March 6, 2022, with his children, grandchildren, and his baby brother, Deacon, by his side, at the John L. McClellan Veteran Hospital in Little Rock, AR.

Garland was born February 12, 1951, in El Dorado, AR, , to Porter Jones, and Lorene Forch along with his twin Mattie Sue. All-World graduated from Washington High School in 1969 and then attended Philander Smith College in Little Rock, AR. After college, Garland joined the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. Upon joining, Garland was able to achieve Sergeant (SGT/E-5) ranking.

After serving in the U.S. Army, Mr. Jones decided to follow his older brother, Jerry, to Colorado. This gave him the opportunity to start his life and meet his first wife, Debra Starks. Together they produced two amazing kids, first was his princess he called "Little Bit," and then a son to carry on the Jones clan. His daughter also contributed two more to the Jones clan with two precious boys, Tareaz and Eriq.

Garland loved his family. He enjoyed speaking about his family tree and adding new members. Family bond to him was an unbreakable bond, even if it was blood or water. He cherished showing his loved ones how to live a good life even when you're down. Garland would always say, "Trouble doesn't last forever."

One of Garland's favorite hobbies was bowling. He loved bowling so much he became a part of the team called "The Avengers," where he met lifelong friends who would share the same fondness for his family as he did. His dream was to bowl a perfect 300 game, which he was able to accomplish at his favorite alley, Monaco Lanes. He always knew how to put a turkey on the screen in that alley.

During Garland's precious life, he experienced many journeys and stories that some would dream of. He always spoke about his time at the `Million Man March" in Washington, D.C. After attending an event such as this, and enduring trials and tribulations, Mr. Jones was inspired to create his own business called "Quad J Telecommunications."

Garland always appreciated the little things in life. One of his favorite T.V. shows was Jeopardy. At the end of the show, he would like to see if his siblings got final Jeopardy. He adored playing card games like Tunk, Gin Rummy, Spades, and many more with his kids and grandkids. When All-World was able to, he still picked up the basketball and took all the young kids and old men to school on the court.

Garland P Jones is survived by his two grandkids Tareaz Jackson Jones and Eriq Galligan; his two kids, Gabrielle and Demetrius Jones; his siblings, Laura Price, Mattie Barksdale; Jerry (Gail), Virginia Brock, and Albert "Deacon" (Wanda).
