Bobby Welch was born to the late Violet Phillips-Sapp of Summerfield, La, and Ivory Welch on Dec 5, 1941. He was called home on May 8, 2021, to be with his father.
Bobby grew up in Summerfield, La; he played baseball and had a joy for fast cars in his early years. Bobby was known to many to be caring and helpful to others, and he loved the Lord.
Bobby was known as Paw Paw to many children and people.
Bobby worked as a machine operator for 40 years at Georgia Pacific and ten years as a machine operator at Calion Lumber Company, where he retired.
Bobby joined the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he became a Sunday school teacher. Later he became a member of Beulah Grove Missionary Baptist Church (Wesson), where he was a member of the Beulah Grove Baptist Church Male Chorus.
Bobby is preceded in death by his father and mother, the late and Ivory Welch and Violet Phillips-Sapp.
Left to cherish his memories his wife Lenora Welch, five sons, Curtis (Celia) Welch, David Welch, Brian Welch, Bobby (Shronda) Welch, and Robert (Betty) Holmes, three daughters, Kathy (Kevin) Andrews, Tiffany (Jimmy) Cargile, and Barbara (Fred) Jackson, two sisters, Lashunda (Alvin) Jackson, and LaWanda Welch), Special Sister, Kathy Davis, Special Cousin, Ray Buggs, Friends, James, Terry, and Charles Twenty eight Grandchildren, Thirty-One Great Grandchildren, and one Great-Great Grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
