Willie Mae Davis Johnson was born to the late Madden George and Willie Bell Davis Coggins on January 11, 1939, in Summerfield, La. She accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where her membership remains.
Willie Mae was the name her parents gave her, but the moment she started walking, her oldest sister called her BOWLEGS, and Oh, didn't she wear that name VERY WELL! Bowlegs walked her walk and talked her talk, said what she meant, and meant every word she said " Sholl as 123," and did not play about anybody being in her business!
5yrs ago, as Bowleg's health started to decline, she was placed with her great niece Ashley and her sons. From that moment, Bowlegs was then introduced to the world as Sista Bowlegs.
Every Social Media platform Sista was on gained thousands of new friends and family members. Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram Sister was very well-known social media sites; everybody knew and loved Sister. Sister lived her life with no worries or regrets and was spoiled rotten. Sister was the baddest fresh sneakers wearing 83 yr old around, and she knew it!
Sister Bowleg was preceded in her death by her parents, siblings: John S. Levingston, James Frazier, Eula Mae Cook, Evanell Buggs, and Gloria Coggins, and Two Nephews Mickey Joe Murphy( Whom she raised as her son) and Anthony Frazier.
Sister Bowleg leaves to Cherish her Sweet Memories her siblings: Carolyn(James) Morris, Annie(James)Moore, Willie Coggins, and Woodrow Coggins, All of El Dorado, Ar. Her Aunt Odell Gray of Junction City, La, and other relatives that will miss her dearly.
