Sister Velma Louise Henderson was born July 18, 1938, in Junction City, AR, by midwife to Conlyn & Mamie Henderson.
She attended Rosenwald School System, where she graduated from, and she went on to attend Velvatex College of Beauty School in Little Rock, AR, where she became a Licensed Cosmetologist. Velma joined New Mt Union Baptist Church at an early age, where she came into contact with a lot of people, who loved her bubbly personality. She was employed by the Glover family until she retired. To know her was to love her. Velma loved working crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family. God called her home Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
Velma leaves to cherish her memories one son, Anthony (Patricia) Henderson of Hope, AR, Four granddaughters Koyona Heard of Junction City, La, Brittany (Jawaine) Frierson of Texarkana, TX, Whitney (Donald) Toney of Hope, AR, Cleshawna Henderson of Sherwood, AR, one brother Robert James (Janice) Henderson of Shreveport, LA, four bonus children Mary Kay Glover, the late George Glover, Greg Glover, and Cynthia Glover, nine great grandchildren, Kaden Henderson, Demarion Henry, Toni Frierson, Za'nia Toney, Kimora Henry, Demetrius Toney, Demorio Henry Jr., A'myah Frierson, the late Jayden Blakely, two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
