Trudie Robison

Trudie Mae Harrison-Robinson was born on June 11, 1924, in Oakland, Louisiana to the late Fonnie Harrison and Etta Lee Dawkins-Harrison. She was the fourth of fourteen children.

She accepted Christ at a very early age, uniting with Springhill Baptist Church in Oakland, Louisiana.

On May 31, 1947, Trudie united in holy matrimony to James Robinson. To this union, they were blessed with seven children. In 1952, they moved to Chicago, Illinois.

Trudie had a great work ethic. She obtained her CNA license. She worked at Garden View Nursing Home and Halsted Terrace Nursing Home, both in Chicago, Illinois. In 1982 (James) and (1983) Trudie returned to Louisiana. Upon her return, Trudie took another CNA position at Marion Nursing Home in Marion, Louisiana. Trudie retired from working, but not from taking care of people. She enjoyed life with her family and friends. Trudie had a great passion for cooking and most of all, her famous rice and bacon for breakfast. Her cooking skills went far beyond her family. They loved her potato salad, chicken, and pies. If you visited her home, you didn't leave hungry or empty-handed. She loved working on word search puzzles. Trudie also enjoyed fishing. Many days she could be found out on the water with her fishing buddy, the late Erma Miller.

Trudie transitioned from this life on February 28, 2025, at Farmerville Rehabilitation Center, in Farmerville, Louisiana. She will reunite with her parents: Fonnie and Etta Lee Harrison, her husband James Robinson, sons: John Robinson and Earl Robinson Sr, daughter: Carol Coleman, grandsons: Earl Robinson Jr and Freddie Robinson Jr. Her sisters: Odie Roberson, Ella Archie, Mary Furlough and Katherine Sawyer.
