To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. ~ Eccl. 3:1-8
A Time to be Born: Tru Jamerson King was born June 15, 1946, in Lawson, Arkansas to Rev. Silas L. King and Neally Ella McMurrian King.
A Time to Confess: Tru confessed a belief in Christ at an early age under the leadership of his Father at Draughn Capel Baptist Church of Fordyce, AR and later was a member of the Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Urbana, AR. Over the years he served in many churches including the Grace Christian Center. In the early 1990s, he went to seminary school, and in 1996, he received his Minister's License. He was a current and dedicated member of the Wings of Love Church until his health began to fail.
A Time to Love: Though he never had any children of his own, Tru played a pivotal role in the lives of many nephews, nieces, and stepson, Anthony Banks. He was a hard worker, had vast knowledge of driving many types of vehicles, and loved to fellowship. Even though he was big in stature, he shared unlimited love with everyone he met.
A Time to Work: Over the course of his life Tru worked as a machine operator at Georgia Pacific, a school bus driver for the El Dorado School District, plus owned and operated his own lawn care service. In June 2012, he retired from Union County Solid Waste as a Garbage Truck Driver after numerous years of service.
A Time for Family: He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings.
He leaves to mourn: and cherish his memories two sisters, Lulrene Handley of Yazoo, MS, and Evangelist Loretta King-Gilbert of Ontario, CA: a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and special friends.
A Time to Rest: God called Tru to rest from his final passage over the troubled waters of life to the peaceful shores of eternity on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Courtyard Nursing Facility.
