Tommy Louis Townsend was born to the late Rev. Frank Townsend Jr. and Eserlean Townsend on October 26, 1956, in El Dorado, AR.
Tommy faithfully served as a veteran of the United States Army, which took him on many tours around the world. Afterward, he returned home and started in the upholstery and refinishing business with his father and family. Later, Tommy ended up with several jobs in the manufacturing business before he retired as a disabled veteran.
Tommy was adventurous, energetic, humorous, and very family-oriented. He loved to play cards and dominos, go bowling, and watch football and basketball games with his family. In his spare time, Tommy would be on the water catching fish or working on cars.
Tommy gave his life to Christ at an early age while attending Morning Star Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of G.H. Goodwin. He was active in all church activities but enjoyed singing in the choir and serving on the Usher Board.
He loved the Lord and was a witness to others wherever he went. Whenever Tommy visited home, you would always catch him worshipping at his home church, Morning Star Baptist Church.
