Robert Lee “Truck” Loggins was born in Wesson, Arkansas on January 1, 1952 to Harold Loggins and Margie T. Franklin. He departed this life on Thursday May 31, 2018 at Medical Center of South Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents; Charlie & Fannie Mae Farris, Albert and Dollie Loggins; step-mother, Virgie Loggins; mother-in-law, Thelma Sue Davis; daughter, Trista Michelle Champion; brothers, Ralph Loggins, Herbert Cobin; nephew, Tony Cole; niece La’Vecchia Franklin and an uncle, Eddie B. Loggins.
He united with the Beulah Grove Baptist Church at a young age. He was a faithful member who sung in the choir and with the Male Chorus.
“Truck” was employed at Country Pride and ConAgra for a number of years until the time of retirement. As a hardworking man, he was a family man, dynamic fisherman, hunter, and A “Bad Second Base Player” for the Bodymen.
He graduated from Rosenwald High School which is now Junction City Dragons. He is a “Die Hard” Number 1 Junction City Dragon fan. He went everywhere those Dragons went and cheered them on faithfully with his Dragon blanket.
Truck was a member of the UCSA where he umpired. He loved to have fun. He loved all his kids and grandkids dearly.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife for 45 years, Ophelia Loggins of El Dorado, AR; his children, Robert Du’Juan Loggins of Grady, AR, and Rolonda Marie Loggins of El Dorado, AR; seven brothers, Rev. Jimmy Lee Franklin of Wesson, AR, Willie (Denise) Hunter of Los Angeles, CA, Billy (Rose) Hunter, Perry Franklin both of El Dorado, AR , James Loggins, Victor Loggins, Randy Loggins all of San Francisco, CA; four sisters, Angie (‘Willie) White, Dinah ( Earnest) Hildreth both of Wesson, AR, Beverly Loggins of San Francisco, CA, Jo’Ann Bright of El Dorado, AR, and; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special friends, Wilbert Jr. Tubbs, Rodney Tubbs, Tony Davis (Chicago), Lee Dell Davis, Tony Davis (Three Creeks), Charles Ross, John L. Scott and Leon Hines.
Active Pallbearers will be the Junction City Football Team, Simeon Hildreth and Jordan Hunter. The honorary pallbearers will be the Bodymen, Rodney Tubs, Wilbert Jr. Tubbs and Johnny Willis. The flower escorts will be the Junction City Girls Basketball Team and the Cheerleaders.
Public visitation on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Sims Mortuary. A celebration of his life will be shared at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Junction City Gymnasium.
