Pete Ross Jr.

Pete L. Ross Jr., 72, transitioned to his eternal heavenly home on January 22, 2024. Pete Jr. was the firstborn of Pete and Allene Harris Ross.

As a child, he attended Lee Chapel AME Church in El Dorado, AR; he served as an altar boy with his brother Phillip.

He was a 1969 graduate of Washington High School; he later attended Oil Belt Vocational School. Pete Jr. was previously employed at Murphy Oil Corporation, the El Dorado Police Department, and the Smackover Police Department, where he retired in 2021.

Pete Jr. took pride in the Co-Ownership of their 3rd generational logging Business with his father and brother Keith.

There is an oral history reminisced about logging placed in the Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources; the interview occurred on September 7, 2009.

Pete Jr.'s hobbies included hunting, watching westerns, and wrestling; he was known for his delicious peach cobblers. He enjoyed feeding the doves and pigeons that visited his yard daily and caring for his dog, "Baby Girl."

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Kenneth, Phillip, and Mark, and his sister Helena.

He is survived by his brother Keith Ross of El Dorado, AR, sister Valerie Ross of Frankfort, IL; nephews, Gerald Houston of Oswego, IL, Ryan Baffield of Henderson, NV, Keith Ross of Bryant, AR and Tracey Fleming of Chicago, IL, nieces Nicole Fleming, Danielle Fleming, and Michelle Fleming all Of Chicago, IL, aunt Lita Wilson of Oakland, CA, several cousins, family and a host of grand nieces and nephews and dear friends
