Peggy Jane Gantt was born May 16, 1955, in Waldo, Arkansas, to Norma Mae Payne Gantt and Willie Gantt.
She attended Waldo High School.
Peggy moved to El Dorado, Arkansas, with her family years after she graduated from high school. Peggy decided that she could benefit from the services provided by Community Living Arrangements, Inc.; she became a resident and lived there for 29 years. During her time with Community Living Arrangements, Inc., Peggy obtained employment with Benchmark Industries, Inc., in El Dorado, Arkansas, until her health declined.
Peggy enjoyed collecting stuffed animals; she loved to needlepoint and crochet; she loved coloring, collecting $1 bills, and enjoyed conducting an imaginary choir while listening to her favorite gospel song, "Take Me To The King," by gospel recording artist Tamela Mann. Peggy had a big heart.
Peggy received Christ at an early age. She attended services at one of the local churches before her health declined.
Peggy was called home by the Lord on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas (MCSA), in El Dorado, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Willie and Norma Mae Payne Gantt, and a sister.
Peggy leaves to cherish her memory, her brother, Willie Garnett of Dallas, Texas; and her South Arkansas Developmental Center for Children and Families, Inc. family in El Dorado, Arkansas; and a host of other family and friends.
