Orlando Darren Reed Sr.

February 10, 1960 — September 11, 2021

On February 10, 1960, the heavens opened up and released a bouncing baby boy to Ruby Nell Springer, Claiborne Reed, and joyfully raised by his Grandmother Marcella Kennedy-Lowery.

Apple Jack loved sports from an early age; he also loved giving back to his community and loved the elders while taking in the knowledge they provided him. He was a 1978 graduate of Eldorado High School.  After graduating, he went straight into the workforce, with his first job being at Conagra Poultry, later joining the Clean Harbor family, where he worked for 36 years. It was there that he earned the name "Butch."

Apple Jack was a STREET EVANGELIST, PROVIDER, and PROTECTOR. His family was his most significant and most remarkable achievement. He served the Church and those around him faithfully. He was a friend in the time of need, a father to many, and a brother that would love you unconditionally while telling you the stone-cold truth. He had a heart of pure gold. Apple Jack grew up serving the Lord at a young age at Beulah Grove Parnell; he later moved his membership to St. John, where he served on the Community Outreach Ministry, Brotherhood, and Male Chorus. His most rewarding job was being a "Universal Usher" until the Lord called him home. He never missed the opportunity to serve and give an encouraging word to families during their time of need. He joined Lorraine Robinson Reed in holy matrimony on August 15, 1981. To this union, four children were born Darren Reed (deceased), Tanika, and Kanavis (LaKeisha) Reed of El Dorado, AR.,Orlando (Jurita) Reed Jr. of Garland, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ruby Nell Spring-Ganter, Richard Lee Ganter Sr. and Claiborne Reed. His Grandmother Marcella Kennedy Lowery, Brother Nathan L. Reed Sr., Father in Law George L. Robinson and son Darren Reed.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 38 years, Lorraine, daughter Tanika, sons Orlando Jr. (Jurita), and Kanavis (LaKeisha). Mother -in -law Fannie Robinson of Strong, AR. brother Ricky L. Ganter Sr. of Mt. House California and one sister Kimberly M. Ganter of Stockton, California. Grandchildren Kor'Darrion Dismuke, K'Chante Shaw, Ja' Kyron Hillard, Malique, Makailee & O'Mari Reed, Araya Fogle, and Jayden Reed. Special children Desmond (Chazney) Hinton, Yolanda (Charles) Lewis, Erica & Trawn Hinton. A host of Family and Friends.
