Lula Mae Clemons was born to the late Clemmie Lee Williams Aaron (Matthew Aaron) and Preacher Cole on August 23rd, 1935. She peacefully departed this life on Sunday, March 9th, 2025.
She was a loving, devoted, and faithful mother. She served as the oldest church mother at Faith in the Word Christian Center until her health declined. She retired from ConAgra after 35 years of dedicated service. Additionally, she was known as the neighborhood "candy lady" for over 50 years. Mother Lula Mae Clemons was married to the late Jodie Clemons for nearly 58 years before his passing.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jodie Clemons, her mother, Mrs. Clemmie Aaron; her fathers, Matthew Aaron and Preacher Cole; one daughter, Alice Alford; two sons, Otis Miller and L.C. Clemons; one sister, Francis Mae Cole; and her older brother, Johnny Lee Cole.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters: Velma Clemons, Earnestine White, and Angela Thomas (Elva); one bonus daughter, Vera Bridges; two sons: James Clemons Sr., and Thomas Miller (Marie); four bonus sons: Jodie Clemons Jr., Gary Jackson (Jackie), Darry Jackson (Erma), and Ricky Alford; two nieces: Joanne Fifer (Perry) and Dorothy Freeman; three special sisters-in-law: Erma Britt, Dorothy Levingston, and Mary Ford; a special brother-in-law, Lennie Clemons Sr. (Sandra); 33 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and a host of great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
