Linda Carter

Linda Ann Carter was born January 15, 1941, in Huntington Long Island, New York to the Late Walter and Helen Garrison Sr. She attended Barnstable High School in Hyannis, Massachusetts. She was formerly married to Vinnie J. Carter and birthed her only child, Gregory Carter, on July 9, 1960, in Newport, Rhode Island. The family moved to Magnolia, Arkansas around 1970, where she lived for over 50 years.

"Mother" Carter professed Christ as her personal Savior and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She loved taking care of people and worked as an In-home caregiver for over 40 years. During the onset of COVID-19 in 2020. She was hospitalized for two months and then moved to two Memory-Care Facilities in Magnolia, AR. In April 2024, she was relocated to The Springs Mine Creek Facility in Nashville, AR, where her granddaughter and all the staff loved, pampered, cherished, spoiled, and treated her like family until Saturday, January 25, 2025, when the Lord called her home for eternal rest.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Helen Garrison Sr., her son, Gregory Carter, and her siblings; Ethel Herring, Alice McFadden, Bessie Harris, Walter Garrison Jr.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Janice Carter, sibling; Ella Christine (Roosevelt) Polk Jr., eleven grandchildren, Reginald Davis Sr., April Goode, LaTunya Talley, Marco (Karla) Carter, Kiera Carter, Gregory (Laura) Carter Jr., Broderick (Destiny) Carter, Taylor Carter, Tia Carter, Cory Carter, Shawn (Shelby) Clark, eight nieces; Pamela Foston, Malinda Campbell, Sonya Robinson, Stephanie, and Kimberly Garrison, Renee Polk, Jasmine Latoya Marquez, Jessica Ruffin, five nephews; Harold Brito, Thomas Evege, Ervin Cummings Jr., Roosevelt Polk III, Rhys Polk, a host of great-grandchildren, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends, Allison Schultz, and many more throughout the community.
