Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. John 5: 24-25
Leon's love of life did not come to an end with his death. Over the years, Leon showed great strength and resilience in not letting his sickness and illnesses get the best of him; he lived a life full of laughter and good times with his family and friends. Leon passed away on February 13th after a lengthy battle with various illnesses, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Leon came in this world on September 23, 1964 to LaVerne and Janie Lee Leslie in Caledonia Ar. He was raised and reared there for a short period of time, but the family later moved to Smackover Ar, where he spent most of his life. Leon was a man who enjoyed life; he loved to fish and play dominoes before his health began to fail him. Leon also loved some good music, for he would often show off his dance moves when the right song hit him. He had a comedic side that very few rarely got to see. Leon often enjoyed a few spirits, which made him even funnier. Leon was a man of strength on the outside, and yet he truly had a soft spot for his nieces and nephews, who he cherished. He spent many days caring for and helping to rear them in the right direction. He will truly be missed by them, in particular his favorite (Kierra).
Leon is preceded in death by his parents, LaVerne and Janie Lee Leslie; two sisters, Diane Crayton and Stephanie Leslie; and two brothers, LaVerne Leslie-Bubba and Robert Leslie-Hop. He leaves to cherish his memories Sherry Hill(Ray) of El Dorado, Stephen Leslie of Texarkana, and Deborah Leslie of El Dorado, Arkansas.
He also leaves his nieces and nephews to cherish his memories: Bookey, Red, Toya, Chris, Frog, Des, Draylon, Neca, Chasity, Kamille, Khloe, Alyanna, and Little B.
