Juanita Rogers

Winter was the season when Ira Baker, Sr., and Ruby Dell Fikes Baker welcomed their baby girl, Juanita Baker, on February 26, 1952, in Strong, Arkansas.

She accepted Christ at a very early age, uniting with the Shiloh Baptist Church in Strong, Arkansas. "Pee Wee," as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, graduated from Gardner High School in Strong, Arkansas, in 1970. Her work career started with Oak Ridge Nursing Home in El Dorado, Arkansas, where she was a Certified Nurse Assistant for thirty-two years.

She enjoyed life, her children, grandchildren, family and friends. However, she was passionate about going to the casino, purchasing scratch-offs, and thrifting - "The Good Will." We know in her mind she felt, "if thrifting were a crime, she'd definitely plead guilty." She wasn't concerned about the latest trends or trying to express her individuality with unique and vintage shopping; her thrifting allowed her to create a wardrobe that was completely one of a kind. To her, thrifting was a treasure hunt: you never knew what you might find. Thrifting was her therapy and happy place.

On May 24, 1971, she united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Eddie Rogers.

On September 16, 2024, "Pee Wee" transitioned from this place where she eternally united with her parents, Ira Baker, Sr. and Ruby Dell Fikes Baker, her sister Sheila Baker, and her brothers, James and Larry Baker.

By valuing and cultivating memories as treasures of the heart, we can keep the essence of cherished experiences alive with us. She adored her loving husband of 53 years, Eddie Rogers of Strong, Arkansas. Three daughters: Denise White (Stacey) and Markita Rogers, all of Strong, Arkansas, and Christi Boone of Little Rock, Arkansas. One son: Eddie Ray Rogers (Kim) of Junction City, Arkansas. Five sisters: Mary Ann Reynolds (Arthur Lee), Edna Louise Baker, Evelyn Faye Baker, all of Strong, Arkansas, Sheila Boone (Tim) of Camden, Arkansas, and Regina Betters. Two brothers: Jerry Baker (Ollie Mae) and Ira Baker, all of Strong, Arkansas. Her Godbrother: Willie V. Abson (Alice) of Little Rock, Arkansas. Her loving grandchildren: Tyrese Rogers, Eddie R. Rogers, Jr., Fred Williams, Tay Keetria Rogers, Javontay Rogers, and Darriake Rogers. Great Grandchildren: Ma'Kensle Rogers, Kamden Harris, and Jhreme Dismuke. Her Mother in Love: Mrs. Corine Rogers of Strong, Arkansas. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss her dearly.
