On Wednesday, October 24, 2018, the Lord said “John Lee Christian, you have fought a good fight, you have finished the course, and you have kept the faith: Therefore, there is laid up for you a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, shall give you.” And then a flight of heavenly angels took our beloved Brother John Lee Christian, to his new home in heaven.
John Christian was born on February 22, 1971, the second child of three, to Joe Lewis and Emma Christian. John lived an exciting life, full of adventure and love for his family. Growing up in Arkansas, John was a charismatic child who had a natural talent for electronics and technical gadgets. Emulating his father, he loved to hunt, fish and ride his motorcycle. He loved having fun with his siblings, riding his four-wheeler, working on cars, talking and sharing life experiences. Most importantly, John had a special place in his heart for his mother.
After his graduation from South Arkansas Community College with an Electrical and Electronic Certificate and after a short stint with Georgia Pacific, John moved to Texas. While in Texas, John made numerous friends, purchased his home and even encouraged some of his family members to move to Texas. In Texas, John worked for the US Postal Service, UNIF United Natural Food Inc. and UBC United Bearing Corp. In 2016, John tapped into his entrepreneurial spirit and began self-employment as a licensed courier transport while working part time as a distribution sorter at Amazon. John resided in his adopted state of Texas for 22 years, until he heard the Lord’s call.
John touched many individuals with his honesty and sincerity. He was willing to accept individuals no matter their faults. John laughed easily and loudly, and liked to surround himself with individuals who loved to enjoy life. Individuals who loved to have fun.
John was preceded in death by his father Joe Christian. He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving mother Mrs. Emma Christian of Strong, Arkansas, one bother Sammy L. (Terry) Aaron of Arlington, Texas; four sisters, Mary Hill of Lancaster, Texas, Pamela Christian of Little Rock, Arkansas, Earline (Lee) Barnes of Strong, Arkansas and Katyna Christian of Lewisville, Texas. John also leaves a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will truly miss his easy-going spirit.
