On December 14, 2024, a godly life ended - Jimmie Ezell Jr., affectionately known as "Pebbles," transitioned from labor to reward. We find solace in knowing he is at rest with our Heavenly Father. Jimmie embraced his journey to Heaven by taking his three steps: from self, into Christ, and into glory. He lived a beautiful life in Christ and has now taken his final step to a place where there is no more weeping, pain, sorrow, or disappointment. We believe he is at peace and reaping the great reward reserved for the faithful. While his family and friends may grieve, they can also rejoice and give thanks to our Heavenly Father for the life they shared with him.
Jimmie Ezell Jr. was born in Los Angeles, California, on August 3, 1971, to Jimmie Ezell Sr. and Mary Ezell Wallace. He was lovingly raised by Samuel Bernard Wallace Jr., whom he passionately referred to as "Big Papa Bear." Jimmie's joy was shared with his loving parents, Samuel B. and Mary E. Wallace. From a young age, Jimmie confessed his belief in Christ and was baptized at Eden Temple in Oakland, California. He was also a devoted member of Living Word Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Joe Baylor Mason. Throughout his life journey, Jimmie completed 13 years of education, earned a degree in Horticulture (Gardner), and dedicated 16 years of service at Longs Drugs in Oakland, California.
On December 14, 2024, Jimmie gained his citizenship to Heaven. He was the warden of the family.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his brothers Rashine Wallace and Alexander Ezell Myers. He leaves behind cherished memories for his beloved father, Samuel B. Wallace Jr., his devoted mother, Mary Ezell Wallace, and his biological father, Jimmie Ezell Sr. He is also survived by his aunts, Alberta Beavers of St. Louis and Flora & Keith Crumes of St. Louis, his uncles, Ray Charles Gentle (St. Louis) and Tommie (Rena) Gentle (El Dorado, AR), his aunt, Loretta Mason (Crossett, AR), his brothers, Samuel B. Wallace III (California), Orlando Robinson (Crossett, AR), Lavell & Brenda Ashley (Crossett, AR), and his sisters, Felicia Ezell and Janae Ezell of Los Angeles, California. His faithful cousin, Zella Hicks, and dear friends, Barbara White & Barbara Osborne, Vannette Johnson, Shon & Yolanda Jacob, Jasmine, Tyler, Ezra Goldemberg, Brittney & Skylar Minor, Ben Turner, Brigette Scroggins, Martavious Carrigan, Larry & Josephine Hicks, and Margaret Ross also hold him close in their hearts. Dr. Cynthia Simpson & family and a host of other cousins, family, and friends join in cherishing his memory.
