James (JJ) Hill Jr. was born May 24, 1971, to the late Rev. James Hill Sr. and Eleanor Hill Franklin in Bernice, La.
JJ accepted Christ at an early age at New Hope CME Church under the leadership of his father.
JJ received his formal education at Junction City High School. He graduated with the class of 1989. He continued his education at Texarkana Junior College.
JJ was a proud member of the 1989 Junction City High School State Championship Baseball Team Under the coaching of the late AL Bolen. JJ loved all sports; he played football, baseball, and basketball, with baseball being his favorite.
In his later years, he loved playing softball, where he played on several teams, gaining much respect and many friends. He also had a passion for fishing.
JJ worked many years at ConAgra/Pilgrim Pride until the plant closed. Later working at Confor Sawmill in Urbana until his health started to fail.
JJ married the love of his life Carla Lindsey on August 4, 2001, in El Dorado, AR, where they raised two children. Later he joined Union Mission Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon, a member of the senior choir, and on the finance committee. He was a member of the El Dorado Mason C Lodge #151; he was a past worship Master and was honored as master Mason of the year twice.
JJ departed this life on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, in Ida Grove, Iowa. He is preceded in death by his father, James Hill, Sr., Grandfathers Howard Hill, and Hozie Noble Jr., grandmother Ruby Hill and father-in-law Travis Moore.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 21 years, Carla Hill of El Dorado, AR, mother Eleanor Franklin of Junction City, AR, Mother-in-law Lillie Moore of El Dorado, AR, Stepmother Elease Hill of Miami Gardens, FL, Grandmother Mattie Noble of Junction City, AR, three children Amilles Meadows, Corneyshia Rochelle, Jacarllus Hill all of El Dorado, AR. Three grandchildren, Antonio and Anaya Moore of El Dorado, AR, and Nehemiah Caldwell of Junction City, AR; three brothers Orlando Austin of Redoak, Tx, Tyrone (LaTricia) Miner, and Tony Hill of Junction City, AR; four sisters Shaytra (Tony) Bridges, Keisha Noble both of Junction City, AR, Na Cheal Brown of El Dorado, AR AND Sherita Hill of North Little Rock, AR. Special friends Barbara Hinton and Johnell Bradshaw, a host of brothers and sisters in love, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
