Harold was born February 26, 1946, to the late Jim and Kissie Watkins-Russell in Norphlet, AR. The Lord called him home on January 26, 2021, from John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, AR.
At an early age, Harold joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Norphlet, where he was a faithful member.
He was educated in the Smith school district in Norphlet, where he graduated in 1963. He attended AM&N College in Pine Bluff, Arkansas (now known as the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff ). After attending college. Harold chose to serve his country by joining Job Corps in 1965 and later enlisted in the United States Marine on March 15, 1966. He was deployed to serve in the Vietnam War until June 20, 1969. During his Vietnam tour, Harold sustained life-altering injuries and received the Purple Heart of Honor for serving his country.
Despite many challenges, Harold had an uncanny sense of remembering telephone numbers and addresses. This is how he was able to bless his family with a season greeting by sending Christmas cards from him and his favorite dog at the time every year. His favorite things were watching C-SPAN, spending time with his family, and the color brown.
Harold was the youngest of eleven children and was preceded in death by eight siblings.
In 1972 he married Inez Gordon, and three beautiful children were born.

Harold leaves to cherish precious memories, two sons Gary Wayne Russell of Shreveport, LA, Jamie Harold Russell (Tiffany) of Benton, AR, and one daughter Felisha Russell-Cole (Jeff) of Camden, AR.
Two sisters Juanita Bridgewater (Eugene) of Los Angeles, California, and Shirley Russell-Jenson of Austin, TX. Seven grandchildren Kendrick Russell, Brandy Russell, Nicholas Russell, Brittney Cole, Courtney Cole, Blake Russell, and Trey Russell. Six great-grandchildren. Zakylan Cole, Kashawn Cole, Koby Russell, Zamira Russell, Keuna, and Brianna Russell. He is survived by many other relatives and friends.
