Frances Gatson

Frances Jean Gatson, affectionately known as "Grandma Frances" in the community.  She was born August 6, 1938, in Strong, AR, to the late Jody and Rachel Daniels. She transitioned from this life on December 18, 2024, at Courtyard Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her loved ones.

Frances grew up in Strong, AR, where she attended Gardner School. She later united in holy matrimony to the late Leo Gatson on January 14, 1955. To this union, five Children were born. Frances was a fiercely devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a generous heart and was always willing to do whatever she could to care for anyone who called for her. In addition to spending time with family and friends, she enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, decorating, quilting, and making arts and crafts.

Frances accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she was known for her special arts and crafts and fun Sunday School.

As her health started failing, she moved her membership to New Jerusalem Christian Ministry and joined God's Helping Hands Nursing Home Ministry, where she served until her last days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers (Troy Daniels and Lois Clayborne Daniels), one sister (Myrtle Jean Wash), two children (Cheryl, Leichmon and Carlos Gatson), One favorite niece, the late Early Gatson, and one great-granddaughter (Royalty Gatson).

She leaves to cherish her memories her children, LaDebra (George) Van Hook of El Dorado, AR, Terrance Gatson of Strong, AR, and Rachell Gatson of Strong, AR, one bonus daughter, Sherry Miller(Raymond), ten grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, 39 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
