Ervin George Dawkins was born to Obdiah Dawkins and Deborah Newton Dawkins on July 19, 1956. He was the youngest son of 14 children.
He was a graduate of Strong High School. After High School graduation, Ervin served in the United States Navy. After he completed his Military obligation, he returned to Strong to work and care for his parents.
Ervin was a loving and devoted son who took care of his parents until his death.
Ervin was a faithful member of Curry Chapel AME Church Chorus. He lived a Christian life and was always willing to help anyone. We will remember his joyful smile and his hard laugh.
Ervin leaves behind a beloved and devoted wife, Jerry Dawkins; daughter, Chandra Hicks (Anthony); sisters, Love Lee Kyle, Mane Kidd, Bertha Lynn, Lessie Montgomery (William) Norma Brownlee (James), Joyce Bey (Ben) and Debbie Walker (Larry); brother, Charles Troy Dawkins (Pamela); grand-daughters, Jada Wainwright and grandson, Jaren Wainwright. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Curry Chapel Trustee Board, Bro. Elijah Lovett, Bro. Charles Troy Hawkins and Bro. Anthony Hicks. Active pallbearers will be Freddie Robinson, Marvin Ward, Charles Ray White, George Franklin Hicks, Kenneth Wainwright and Terry Jackson.
Public visitation Friday, August 17, 2018 from 12-5pm at Sims Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Curry Chapel AME Church in Strong, AR.
