Donnie Lee Brown was born on April 8, 1926, in Dumas City, Arkansas, to the late Willis Brown and Mattie Williams Roberson.
A time to build
Donnie retired from Monsanto/El Dorado Chemical after being employed for 35 years. He served in the United States Navy from May 31, 1944, to July 16, 1946. Donnie Accepted Christ at an early age and joined First Baptist Cordell, where he served on the Deacon Board. He enjoyed gardening, and he was an avid reader of several books known by his grandchildren as a bibliophile. He enjoyed watching a variety of sports and was a lover of horses, and he was an excellent cook.
A time to Morn
Donnie is proceeded in death by his parents, the Late Willis Brown, and the late Mattie Williams Roberson, one brother Roy L. Brown, and two sisters, Estine Hunter, and Urusline Culp.
A time to cherish
Left to cherish his memories are one daughter, Donna J. Brown of El Dorado, AR; three sons, Donnie R. Brown, (Sun P) of Columbia S.C., Dennis D. Brown; Morris L. Brown (Cynthia) of El Dorado, AR, one sister Frances Roberson of El Dorado, AR, one nephew Orlando Stewart (Caletha) of El Dorado, AR, one niece Denise Paige Stewart, 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
A time to die
Donnie’s heavenly departure was on October 25, 2020, at the age of 94 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas.
