Corine Davis-Malone was born on July 30, 1933, in Caledonia, AR, to the late Orana (Godfrey) and Charlie Davis Sr., right behind her identical twin sister, Lorene Davis-Hayes. She was one of twelve children (6 boys and six girls) that her parents shared.
She was raised in Wesson, Arkansas, where she met the Love of Her Life, Thomas Malone Jr. (TJ), in school. They secretly dated and got married on September 01, 1951. They had four children: Anita, Berry, Melvin, and Sandra. They were married for 66 years before TJ went to his heavenly home.
Corine worked at J&M Poultry until an accident took her out of the workforce. She became a stay-at-home mom, working in her garden, cooking, shopping, and going for walks before sunrise. No one made dumplings better than her, and she never missed a day making Breakfast, stating, "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You need it to keep your strength."
She was a member of Beulah Grove Baptist Church in Wesson, Arkansas.
She was known as "MaDear" by her grandkids, because "granny, grandma or grandmother" didn't fit her style and personality. MaDear raised more than just her four children but also grands and great-grands. She was "mom" to all. She always said, "As long as I am here, y'all have a place to stay even if you have to sleep on the floor."
Her personality and sense of humor shined bright, just like her heart. The most important thing to Corine was her family. Many times, she put her family before her health and well-being.
Corine was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Malone Jr. (TJ); brothers- Floyd Dell Davis, Robert Davis, Rev. Curtis C. Davis, Bennie Davis, Charlie Davis Jr., Leon Davis; sisters- Maxine Davis-Davis, Bettye Davis-Griffin.
Corine's loving memories will be cherished by daughters Anita Malone-Dixon (George) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Sandra Kay Malone and CaSandra Anetia Malone-Pope, both of El Dorado; sons Berry Thomas Malone of El Dorado, Melvin Louis Malone (Ruth) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Dameyon Edrick Malone (Sheila) of El Dorado, Arkansas; 6 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
