Clois Moody Sr.

I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. Psalms 104:33

Clois Ray Moody Sr. was born January 11, 1954, in Magnolia, AR, to the late Ernest Lee Wyrick and the late Dolly Turner Moody. He was a graduate of EHS Class of 1972. Clois was the eldest of three children; Clois Ray accepted Christ at an early age, and one of his greatest talents was singing in his church choir. He was a dedicated member of First St. James under the leadership of Rev. Roy C. Aaron. Clois was a proud member of El Dorado Prince Lodge Hall Mason #151. Clois Ray gained his Heavenly wings on February 9, 2024. He attended Arkansas Baptist in Little Rock, Arkansas, immediately after high school, where he mastered the trade of cement Mason (concrete laborer). Clois Ray relocated to Long Beach, California, in or around 1978 and started employment under Sully Miller Contracting Company of Long Beach, California, where he continued working through October of 1993. Clois Ray relocated to El Dorado, AR, in 1997, where he remained until his death. He was employed at Magnum Construction for the past 20 years.

Clois was known throughout the community for his awesome concrete laying and cooking abilities. He was the grill master and baker amongst his family. Although his immediate family was small, his cheerful, joking smile gained him an extended family that would also miss him greatly. We all knew his greatest hobby and daily ritual was playing his numbers; he was extremely family-oriented and cared deeply for his friends.

Clois Ray is preceded in death by one son Clois Ray Moody Jr.

He was married to Carla Day Moody, whom he leaves to cherish his memories, along with four children: Mario Moody (Germaine) of Baton Rouge, LA; Crystal Raye Moody Green (Marquise) of Dayton, Ohio; Ephrom Ray Moody of Columbus, Ohio; Arionne Lynnette Moody Gaines (Michael) of Cincinnati, Ohio. Stepdaughter Maliah Harris; Siblings Toni A. Moody Ward of El Dorado, AR; and James Winston Moody of Tacoma, Washington. A bonus Mom, Virginia Wyrick, Two nieces, Shemekia Jackson and Brittney Minor (Patrick) of El Dorado, AR, and two great-nieces, Gabrielle Hart and Skylar Minor of El Dorado, AR. Two great nephews, Dell'carrio Jackson and Rodney Hart, Jr, both of El Dorado, AR; One great niece, Rylynn Foster; Eight grandchildren, A'Sean Harris, Tyray Harris, Kyra Green, Clois Ray Moody III, Rayden Moody, Marquise Green, Amelia Gaines all of Columbus, Ohio, and Christian Moody of Baton Rouge, LA. He also leaves a host of extended cousins, friends, associates, and one special friend, Shunda Washington.
