Charles R. Honeycutt Sr. was born September 27, 1959, to the late Ollie (Sonny) B. Honeycutt and Dorothy Jean Benson Honeycutt in Strong, AR. Charles began his Christian journey at an early age in South Arkansas. He was an active member of Saint James Baptist Church in El Dorado, AR, before he became disabled, under the leadership of Bishop George Calloway, Jr.
When his family relocated to Huttig, Arkansas, he attended Huttig Public Schools, and after graduation in 1977, he enlisted with the United States Navy; he was very excited about touring the world and learning everything they had to offer. He trained with them from 1977 through 1980 as a "Medical Hospital Corpsman". He mostly provided care to his fellow Marines, whom he traveled with on his tour of duty.In 1980, after completing his three years in the United States Navy, Charles returned to South Arkansas, where he worked in Construction and Manufacturing Facility for a few years. He began a new career in 1982 with AP&L, now known as Entergy Arkansas. He held several positions there from 1982 through 1995. He loved his job there and his AP&L Family.
The AP&L family was like no other company he had ever worked for. The employees always had great respect for each other. They even supported each other & their family outside of the workplace. Charles was also willing to help and be a leader in the community. He was a member of the Progressive Gentlemen's Club of El Dorado. He supported the community by helping at the Salvation Army. He would help deliver Christmas Fruit Baskets to the local Long-term Care facilities.
He was also a member of the Arkansas Realtors Association. Lastly, he enjoyed the peace/solitude of excitement and anticipation of being in the woods at 6:00 a.m., waiting to see some large "Deer." Most of the time, he came home with nothing, but he enjoyed the sport.
On December 16, 2024, Charles transitioned to be with his heavenly Father, where he will be eternally united with his parents and brother, Chester Lee Honeycutt. His loving memories will be cherished by his devoted and loving wife of 44 years, Michelle Honeycutt of El Dorado, AR; one son, Charles (EnJoli) Honeycutt II of Houston, Texas; two sisters Deloris Brunson of Huttig, AR; Mable Honeycutt of Dallas, TX; two brothers, Jerry Lee Honeycutt and Michael Anthony Honeycutt of Huttig, AR and a host of Nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who loved him dearly.
