Cassandra Maureen Reed

Cassandra Maureen Reed was born December 11, 1975 to Casey and Faye Wade in El Dorado, Arkansas.

Cassandra united with Jerusalem Quinn Baptist Church at an early age where she remained until relocating to California, where she attended Zion Elect Church of God In Christ. She attended El Dorado High School, class of 1993, and later attended United Education Institute in California. Cassandra was the Vice President of Double R Enterprise until her health failed.

On March 18, 1995, she united in Holy Matrimony to Rodrick L. Reed Sr. and to this union four children were born.

Cassandra transitioned to her eternal resting place on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, surrounded by her loved ones. She is preceded in death by her son, Marcus L. Reed, her paternal grandparents Tommie L. Dickerson and Lodine Jones, her maternal grandparents O.B and Gaudie Lee Ewing. She is also preceded in death by her father-in-law Clayburn James Reed Sr., her grandfathers-in-law Clayburn Reed and Ervin Ford Sr. and her grandmother-in-law Jessie Mae Thigpen.

Cassandra leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories by her husband and best friend of 28 years; Rodrick L. Reed Sr. of Montevallo, Alabama; her sons, Rodrick L. Reed, Jr., of San Bernardino, California, Anthony L. Reed of Tennessee and Andre L. Reed of Redlands, California; her one and only daughter also of San Bernardino, California, Courtney A. Reed; her parents, Faye E. Wade and Rev. Casey S. (Betty) Wade; sister, Cacita (Cleo) Jamerson; two brothers, Rev. Corey (Jeanette) Wade and Dexter Fifer all of El Dorado, Arkansas. Cassandra also leaves her mother-in-law, Rev. Marilyn Reed of El Dorado, Arkansas; grandmother-in-law, Mary Ford of Lake View Terrace, California; one sister-in-law, Veronica Lefear of El Dorado, Arkansas; two brothers-in-law, Clayburn Reed Jr. and Destin Reed Sr. both of San Bernardino, California and three grandchildren, Madyson, Kaycee and Mason Reed, as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved her dearly.

Public visitation will be Friday, July 27, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sims Mortuary with the family hour from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Sims Mortuary. Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10 a.m. St. James Baptist Church. Interment will be at Jerusalem Quinn Cemetery under the direction of Sims Mortuary.
