Bishop Eddie A. Yarbrough, Jr. was born April 15, 1947, in El Dorado, AR, to Eddie Yarbrough Sr. and Sadie Yarbrough. He attended Washington High School in El Dorado, AR, and was a 1965 graduate of the National Job Corps in Fort Worth, Tx, with a degree in Studio Art and drafting. In 1966 he received his call to ministry and preached his first sermon titled "Resume Travel." In 1970 Eddie enlisted and served in the United States Army and was stationed in Stockholm, Germany. Bishop Yarbrough survived two wives, Sarah Isom, to which one son Mark Anthony Yarbrough was born, also Linda Nunn, to which Tanganika Yarbrough Ford was born. In 1986 he married the love of his life, his rib, his helpmate, the peanut butter to his jelly, his Sweet Caroline, Carolyn Yarbrough. From this union, they joined together five children.
Eddie enjoyed reading, writing poetry, drawing, and music; with his artistic talent and love for fashion, he and his wife opened Lasting Impressions florist and gift shop, offering beautiful custom floral designs and dress clothes for over 20 years.
Eddie began pastoring at Evergreen Baptist Church in Eldorado, AR and remained there for 28 years until his retirement in 2016. He united with The Church of Love under the leadership of Pastor Aluster Hamilton, where he was a faithful member and teacher. Eddie loved people. He was easy to talk to and was a shoulder and listening ear to many. He served as a Counselor and Regional Bishop with kingdom Destiney Fellowship International under the Jurisdiction Prelate, Bishop Derrick Robinson of St. Louis, Mo., until Pastor Carolyn's health declined.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Eddie Yarbrough Sr. And Sadie Yarbrough of El Dorado, AR, and brother Elder Jimmy Yarbrough of El Dorado, AR. Granddaughter Amber Latricia Winbourne-Perritt.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Carolyn Yarbrough of El Dorado, two sons, Mark (Theresa) Yarbrough, Sr. of California, Darin Thurman Sr. of El Dorado, three daughters, Rebecca (James) Sullivan of Georgia, Addrenna (Marvin) Gilchrist of Georgia, and Tangy (Phillip) Ford of El Dorado, AR. one brother, Apostle Larry W. (Jessie) Yarbrough, two sisters, Hettie Yarbrough of Birmingham Alabama, and Apostle Doctor Sylvia Yarbrough of El Dorado,13 grandchildren. One special Daughter Sharmonica Breggs of El Dorado, AR, and two special sons Keith Nunn, and Edrick Ellis of El Dorado, AR.
