A Glimpse into Her Life
Betty Jo Macon (Maker) came into this world on May 9th, 1971, born to Minnie Lee Beard and Cleodis Watkins. Betty passed from this life to be with her Father God in Heaven on December 9th, 2019. Those who were touched by her life will never be the same. Even as a baby, Betty was very affectionate, loving, caring, and she warmed up easily to anyone, all of which continued until her home going. She possessed a very contagious smile that would melt any heart.
Betty was a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where she was in regular attendance. Betty knew the value and worth of being an amazing mother, Nana, family member, co-worker, and friend. Betty loved the company of her family and friends. She was always the one to make plans for everyone to get together.
Betty endured an array of challenges in her life, but with every challenge that she faced, she came out victorious. By just looking at her because she ALWAYS had a smile, one could never even fathom her tragic life’s journey. She has always been and always will be an admirable woman, an example that people can truly look up to, and will be remembered in such a strength-based way!
She was a highly determined woman, and when her mind was set to achieve a goal, she accomplished it! A few of her many accomplishments were, raising her two beautiful daughters as a single parent, finding her eldest sister Felicia, planning a family reunion by herself, and being a conqueror through all of her life's hardships. She had a heart of gold and caring for others came naturally for her.
Betty loved to play softball!!! She loved softball so much, that she once paid all of the fees to ensure there was a team. Anyone who knew her knows how much she loved her softball. She would be so excited to call her sister Keisha to tell her that she was playing softball and would be even more excited to find out that Keisha was playing. (Smile) Betty worked at Chickadilly since 2006, if you were ever in the mood for Chickadilly’s famous chicken, then you definitely would be greeted with Betty’s infectious smile, and you could be certain your food was FRESH.
In the last season of her life Monday, December 9th, 2019 she was blessed to share her transition with her family and friends by her side. Those left to Relish in her memory are her Dad Cleodis (Rosemary), Watkins, two daughters, T'Revah Macon(Cobb), Robin Rucks; two grandchildren, Cali, and Kase Cobb; four brothers Billy Beard Jr, Romanda Watkins, Michael Watkins, Antonio Watkins; eight sister’s, Felicia Watkins, Erika Kittrell, Keisha(Darrell) Brown, Clessia Watkins, Kimberley Farris, Dora Beard, Diane Beard, Nichole Watkins; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
