Bennie Jean Bradley, the daughter of William Jackson and Bertha Jackson, was born on July 8, 1934, in Rosston, Arkansas. She departed this life on Friday, March 13, 2020, at her home. She was baptized at an early age in Rosston, Arkansas, she was united in marriage in 1954 to Cleveland Bradley, out of the union 7 children were born.
She was one of the first black students to attend the University of Little Rock, Arkansas. She joined Morning Star Baptist Church and in the year 2000, she joined United Baptist Church under the watch care of Rev. Paul Rainey until the end of her life. She sang in the choir, she worked as a missionary, and she worked in the community.
She was preceded in death by Cleveland Bradley, her husband, two sisters, Namio Tidwell and Ruthie Starr, one brother Wilson Jackson, Cleveland Jr. Bradley and Eurall Bradley, 2 sons, Donald Manning, and Spencer Scott, 2 grandchildren, Ezra King, Son – in – Law.
She leaves to cherish her memories, 5 daughters, Gwendolyn (Keith) Bradley Smith, Gail (Haven) Merritt, Phyllis (Ezra) King, Crystal (Bennie) Modica, and Bertha (Jesus) Bradley, Sister, Archie Mae Anderson- Andrews, 16 Grandchildren, 28 Greatgrandchildren, 4 Great Great-grandchildren, and a host of Niece and Nephews.
Public Visitation Friday, March 20, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., at Sims Mortuary. Funeral Service Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Sims Mortuary Chapel at the Cross, Interment will be at Morning Star Cemetery under the direction of Sims Mortuary. Sign the guestbook at simsmortuary.com.
