Mother Arcie Norman Mason Gentle was gifted to this earth on May 15, 1927, in Urbana, Arkansas, to the late Henry & Lula Norman. She was the rock of her community and the matriarch of her family. She was a fervent prayer warrior. She expressed love, gentleness, and kindness each day of her life.
She is one of twelve children, and her surviving sister is 100-year-old Willie Mae Wallace of Georgia.Mother Gentle confessed her belief in Jesus Christ at an early age. She served as a faithful and active member of the Zion Watch Baptist Church. prayer was the key to her successful life. She made sure her thumbprint was left in any auxiliaries she served in, and even more, she supported the prayer line Ministry and was faithful to it until she finished her course. Her faith was her courage to go on in life, and it also opened many doors for her. While on this journey of life, she received certificates in baking and obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate. But at the age of 65, she went back to school to get her GED and pressed on to do one year of College as a freshman; she was also the greatest Mother, Aunt, Grandmother, Sister, & Friend.
On April 16, 2024, Mother Gentle gained her citizenship in heaven. She was the Matriarch of her family and the rock of her community. Mother Gentle was well known for her gentleness, kindness, and unwavering love. Loving life was in her right hand, and righteousness and honor were in her left hand. Her days multiplied and years added; gray hair was her crown of glory.
Mother Gentle was proceeded in death by her Parents, late husband Rev. Lonnie Gentle; a son, The Right Reverend Bishop Joe B Mason; Daughters Roberta Mason-Williams Thelma Gentle.; her sisters Ester Norman-King, Bessie Norman-Gonzales, Allie Norman-Adams, Lillie Norman- McMurrian, Clara Norman- Meeks, Dorcas Norman.; Brothers: Dorsey Norman, Waymon Norman, Henry Norman Jr; Collie Norman; Grandsons Victor & Kenneth Mason; A Son in Love Elmore McBee.
She leaves to cherish her Memories to her daughters Alberta Beavers-McBee of St. Louis, MO, Mary (Samuel) Ezell-Wallace of El Dorado, Ark and Flora (Keith) Crumes of Missouri. Sons Ray Charles Gentle and Tommie Lee (Rena) Gentle, both of El Dorado, Ark. A daughter in Love, Loretta Manning-Mason of Crossett, Ark. A Sister Willie Mae Wallace of Georgia, dedicated grandson, Jimmie Ezell JR., niece, Zella R. Hicks. A Caregiver for 20-plus years, Joyce Avery. Bonus children Orlando Robinson, Barbara Osborne, Vanette Johnson, and Barbara White. Ten grandchildren, 29 great-grands, 11 great-great grands. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. She will be missed by those she loved and by those who loved her.
