Angela Kendrix

Angela was born October 26, 1977, to Luella Kendrix and Willie Gene Nelson, both of El Dorado, Arkansas. As a child, she was known as "Angel," and later in life, her family and close friends gave her the name "Sweet Potato Pie." Angel transitioned on February 5, 2025, at Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas. 

Angel attended Mount Carmal Baptist Church of Urbana, AR growing up as a child. Angel worked for the Military Base in North Little Rock until her health failed. Angel had a deep love for her family and friends. She engaged in get-togethers where she loved listening to music, dancing, and laughing with her family and friends. Her biggest and proudest pleasure was spending time with her kids and grandkids. 

Angel was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Emma Logan; her paternal grandparents, John Henry, and Bessie Nelson; her mother, Luella Kendrix; her father, Willie Gene Nelson; 2 brothers, Lawerence Nelson and Clarence Greene; and 1 sister, Ina Nelson. 

Angel's memories will be cherished by her daughter, Shakeya Kendrix and son Cartelo Neel; her two grandkids whom she loved dearly, Karis Talley and Jaycion Dixon all of North Little Rock, Arkansas; 4 brothers: Calvin and Alvin Nelson of El Dorado, Arkansas; Vincent Wallace of Little Rock, Arkansas; Michael(Carla) Dunn of Conway, Arkansas; 5 sisters: Doris Ford of Camden, Arkansas; Carolyn Hart of El Dorado, Arkansas; Anita(Herbert) Colter of Little Rock, Arkansas; Stephanie Nelson Jefferson of North Little Rock, Arkansas; Cynthia(Richard) Clark of Fairborn, Ohio; Uncles: Robert Tatum of Dallas, Texas, Henry Logan of Michigan; a host of nieces, nephews, relative and friends who will miss her dearly.
