A Godly life ended Friday, February 14, 2025, when our loved one, Sis. Affie Thelma Henry-Boone passed away peacefully at Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas. We know she is at rest with our Heavenly Father.
Affie Thelma Henry-Boone was born July 22, 1939, in Lillie, Louisiana, to the late Cotris Henry and Alma Boone-Henry.
At an early age, she united with St. John Baptist Church in Lillie, Louisiana. Later, Affie continued her faith journey by uniting with New Bethel Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas, where she served on the Usher Board and the Mission Department. She served faithfully until her health began to decline.
Affie Thelma Henry-Boone attended Washington High School in El Dorado, Arkansas. She graduated at 17 years of age with the class of 1957. Affie would later become a member of the El Dorado Searcher Social Club, an organization composed of former Washington High School students.
In May of 1961, Affie married Ure Lee (Blackie) Boone. While trying to raise children and take care of a home. Affie worked tirelessly for 40-plus years at Con Agra Poultry.
Affie was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Ure Lee "Blackie" Boone, son- Vincent "Poke" Boone, daughters; Martha Boone and Carolyn Boone, sisters- Myrtle Andrews and Linda Henry, brothers- Clyde Jackson Sr., David Henry, Cotris Henry Jr., W.C. Henry, James Henry, and J.C. Henry, grandchildren- Malik Boone, Franklin Gregory Andrews, great-grandchildren- Jessie Douglas and Isiah Douglas.
Her legacy will live on with five sons, Jewel Lee Boone (Georgia)- Magnolia, AR; Franklin Andrews; Gregory Andrews (Corretha), both of El Dorado, AR; Rickey Boone- Sacramento, California; Timothy Boone (Shelia); Camden, AR. Two daughters, Angela Lumsey (Cory) and LaQuita Boone, both of El Dorado, AR. Five sisters, Ruby Henry- Christian, Vallejo, California; Virginia Barner- Cabot, Arkansas; Nancy Henry- Modesto, California; Annie Henry- McGruder- Cherry Hill, New Jersey; Charlotte Henry- Nelson (Robert)- El Dorado, Arkansas; brother, Clarence Henry (Diana)- Fresno, California.
A Special Niece- Ella Gill (Gina) - El Dorado, Arkansas. Special Friends- Jo Ann Bright - El Dorado, Arkansas, and Norma Glenn Burns- Desoto, Texas. 31 Grandchildren, 49 Great-grandchildren, and 5 Great-great grandchildren. And a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
