Shirley was affectionately known to her family as Jean.
On April 28, 2022, Jean passed away peacefully at the age of 72 after a brief illness. During her illness, Jean repeatedly stated, "I'm going to trust God. God got my back."
Jean was born to the parents of Florella Moore and Leidos Lovett on January 22, 1950, in Urbana, Arkansas.
At a young age, Jean accepted Christ at St. James Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas. She later united with Ebenezer Baptist Church at 4901 South Avaion Blvd. Los Angeles, California, under the leadership of Dr. Kenneth E. Little.
After completing Washington High School in 1968, Jean decided to spread her Wings by moving to California. She worked several different jobs before finding her home with L. A. Unified School District, where she remained until retirement.
Jean enjoyed watching basketball and the horses and talking over the phone to family and friends during her retirement.
Shirley Jean Lovett is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James Lovett, her grandparents, Rev. John Acie Moore & Rose Anna Henry Moore, several aunts, uncles, and a nephew.
Shirley Jean is survived by her two children, Veronica M. Austin and Dayeon T. Myricks (Anna) of Los Angeles, California. 2 grandchildren, Justin Traylor and Dominique White, both of Los Angeles, California. 2 brothers, Willie James Richmond (Pennie) of Sherwood, Arkansas and Mc Elroy Parker (Donna) of El Dorado, Arkansas. 1 sister, Loretta Parker- Caver (Reginald) of El Dorado, Arkansas. A host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends that loves her.
