"Let not your hearts be troubled; ye believe also in me. John 14:1 Ella Jean Murphy Briggs was the daughter of Mack and Clyde Darden Murphy. She was born on March 10, 1932 in El Dorado, Arkansas. Jean departed this life on Monday, December 6, 2010 in Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Jean as a teacher affected a number of young and old lives alike from behind a desk to speaking a word of our Lord in churches, homes and on the phone. Jean attended and graduated from AM&N College and Indiana State University. She was an investigator for the EEOC for 18 years in Little Rock, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her parents. She leaves to cherish her loving memories, four children, Derrick Briggs and Kevin Briggs both of Little Rock, Arkansas and Douglas Briggs of Tacoma, Washington;her daughter, Pamela Briggs-Williams of Maumelle, Arkansas and her sister Myrtle Sims of Junction City, Kansas; six grandchildren, Jon Wilson, Asure-De Wilson-Holloway, Jillian Williams-Johnson, Stephen Briggs, Kory Briggs and Brittany Briggs, nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Homegoing Celebration for Ella will be held on Monday,December 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Victory Bible Church in El Dorado,Arkansas with Apostle Ruby Green offficiating. Interment will follow in the Lott Burgy Cemetery under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. No Visitation at the funeral home.
