Fred Easter, Jr.

A man among men. After preparng his family for his heavenly flight, he gave up his earthly life on Tuesday, November 21, 2006. Dad decided to go home to eternal rest. He knew that he did not come here to stay; so he worked hard while it was day, for he knew that night would come. Fred Easter, Sr. was born on September 24, 1910 in the community of Three Creeks; just outside of El Dorado, Arkansas. Fred was born to the late Gus and Pearl Rodgers Easter. Fred met and married Sudie Alderson Easter. They spent many happy years together. The Easters were devoted members of the Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Fred served as a Deacon, member of the Finance Committee, Choir Member and Custodian for the church.... A job he took seriously. He was passionate about the quality of life for all human kind and cherished his family. Mr. Easter was preceded in death by his wife,Sudie Alderson Easter; a daughter, Erma Andrews Thomas; three brothers, Smead Easter, George Easter and Willie Easter. He leaves to cherish his loving memories; three sons, Fred Easter, Jr.(Alberta) of Compton, California, Gary Easter(Naomi) of St. Louis, Missouri and Archie Easter(Pauline) of El Dorado, Arkansas; three daughters, Hattie Leichman Harrison, Earnestine Isiah(Joe) and Josephine Flynn(William) all of Los Angeles, California; Twenty-five grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Three nieces, one nephew, many relatives and caring friends. Homegoing Service for Mr. Easter will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Samuel Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home on Monday, November 27, 2006 from 10:00am-5:30pm and Tuesday, November 28, 2006 from 8:30am-9:30am. The family will receive friends at 1509 D.
