"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want..." Psalms 23 Brother Falton Nisley was born on September 25, 1926 in Homer, Louisiana to the late John and Annie T. Penton Nisley. On Friday, August 20, 2010 while in the care of Medical Center of South Arkansas, he was peacefully called into eternity. At the appointed time several years ago, Brother Nisley united with St. Vestal C.M.E. Churh where he served as a steward and superintendent of the Sunday School Department. Falton was a man who believed in working and providing for his family. He proudly served in the United States Army during the World War II Era. Over his lifetime, he was employed by Murphy Oil, Monsanta Incorporated, Wheeling Pipeline subsequently retired from Miller Transport. On August 27, 1949, he gave his hand in marriage to Luella Bursey. To this union, the Lord saw fit to bless them with four beautiful children, three daughters and one son. Brother Nisley was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Luella, one son Gregory "Donnie" Nisley one brother Obed Nisley and four sisters Johnnie M. Hatter, Lillian Kidd, Alfreteen Price and Zadie King. His loving memories will be cherished by his three daughters, Joslyn(Ray)Giddens of Tyler, Texas, Sophia(James Paul)Brewer of Longview, Texas and Edith(Marcus)Posey of Houston, Texas, two siblings, Brother Ralph Nisley and a sister, Marjorie Presley both of Los Angeles, California, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a host of nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him tremendously. A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Nisley will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vestal C.M.E. with Rev. Monteal Rhynes officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendship Cemetery, Summerfield, Louisiana under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday, August 27, 2010 from 9:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The body will be placed in the church for viewing one hour prior to funeral time.
