James E. Jones

"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.." Psalms 23 James E. Jones was born in Junction City, Arkansas on October 19, 1936 to James and Flora Dismuke Jones. He was the third of five sibling. At an early age, his family moved to Los Angeles, California whre he attended 92nd Street School and graduated from Fremont High School. Upon graduation, he gained employment was a Body and Fender Repair Technician. In 1965, he met and married , Sharon Hunt. Shortly thereafter, in 1968, they relocated to Portland, Oregon. The union of James and Sharon were blessed with two sons. After a short period of time, James entrepreneurial skills kicked in and he became the proud owner of a "Detail Shop"., which he operated until retirement. James eventuarlly relocated back to his roots; Union County, Arkasnas where it all began. James was fondly known to everyone as "Jacko' or "Red". On June 15, 2010, the angel of silence came; and with chilly fingers, sealed the lips of precious heartbeat of our beloved James E. Jones. His soul winged it's flight from this world of sin, sorrow and pain to a place of eternal rest. Preceding James in death were his parents; Floria Dismuke Dorch and James Jones, his wife Sharon Jones and one sister, Urseleane Jones Simon. His loving memories will be cherished by his two sons; Mark Jones and Dwayne Jones of Portland, Oregon, three sisters Sara Jones of Zenobia, Oregon and Winifred Tubbs of El Dorado, Arkansas; one brother, Lawrence Jones of Denver, Colorado and a host of relatives, loved ones and friends who will miss James Jacko Jones tremendously. A Homegoing Celebration for James will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Caledonia Community, Junction City, Arkansas with Rev. Larry Richmond officiating. Interment will follow in the Ebenezer Caledonia Cemetery, Junction City, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the funeral home will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 9:00am to 5:00pm and Thursday, June 24,from 8:30 to 9:00am.
