"When my Father and my Mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.."Psalms 27:10 Eugene Johnson was born on July 31, 1962 in El Dorado, Arkansas the son of Alvoid and Jerline Ganter Johnson. He departed this life on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at his residence in El Dorado, Arkansas. Eugene united with First Baptist Church-Cordell, El Dorado, Arkansas under the guidance of Dr. E. A. Porchia. He attended Norphlet Public Schools in Norphlet, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother LaVell McElroy and one great niece N'keyal Elizabeth. He leaves to cherish his memories, his two sons, Devon Johnson and DeAngelo Johnson; two daughters Brittany Rogers and Crystal Johnson all of Little Rock, Arkansas; his mother Jerline Johnson of El Dorado, Arkansas; two brothers, Robert Earl Johnson of Tyler, Texas and Thomas(Jamie) Johnson of El Dorado, Arkansa; five sisters, Patricia Dawkins and Carol(Ralph)Woods, Chris(Calvin)Jones all of El Dorado, Arkansas, Erline(Fred)Jordan and Lorine(George)Green all of Little Rock, Arkansas. A host of neices, nephews other relatives and friends. A Homegoing Celebration for Eugene will be held on Monday, February 22, 2010 in the Sims Mortuary Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Felton Burgie officiating. Interment will follow in the Arlington Memorial Gardens, El Dorado, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 9am to 5pm and Monday, February 22 from 9:00am until funeral time.
