Bennie Davis

"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.." Psalms 23 Mr. Bennie Davis was born on December 2, 1922 in Wesson, Arkansas the son of the late Charlie and Orana Godfrey Davis. He was a member of Beulah Grove Baptist Church in Wesson, Arkansas. Bennie served as an autobody and paint repairman for 35 years. During retirement, Bennie took much pride in his garden and helping others. For those who knew him they knew that he possessed a great heart and a laugh that would put a smile on all faces. Bennie united in holy matrimony to Mae Bethel Stephens on November 23, 1949. To this union two children were born(Lee Dell and Lenora). He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Mae Bethel Stephens-Davis,his parents, Charlie and Orana Davis; three brothers, Floyd Dell, Robert and Reverend Curtis Davis. Mr. Bennie leaves to cherish his loving memories, his children, Lenora(James)McElroy of El Dorado, Arkansas and Lee Dell(Debra)Davis of Three Creeks, Arkansas and Leroy(Cleaster)Davis of El Dorado, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Semekia(Lamonte)Amerison and KeKe Davis of El Dorado, Arkansas, Shaymoria Davis of Wesson, Arkansas, Barbara Davis of White Plains, Maryland, Christopher Davis of El Dorado, Arkansas; two brothers, Leon and Charlie(Eula)Davis of Wesson, Arkansas; six sisters, Maxine(L.C.)Davis of Matteson, Illinois, Corine(T.J.)Malone and Sadie Ollison of El Dorado, Arkansas, Lorene Hayes and Louise Davis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Betty Griffith of Argo, Illinois; 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, neices, and other relatives and friends. A Homegoing Celebration for Bennie will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Beulah Grove Wesson Baptist Church with Rev. Enzeo White officiating. Interment will follow in the Beulah Grove Wesson Cemetery, Junction City, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Dell Davis, 182 Beasley Lane, Junction City, Arkansas.
