Hamp Smead "Fat" Goodwin

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart."Proverbs 3:5 Hamp Smead "Fat" Goodwin was born in Union County, Arkansas the son of Charlie J. and Octavia Tatum Goodwin. He was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church, Smackover, Arkansas. He attended Smackover Training School, Smackover, AR. He was a retired Construction Worker. Hamp was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Claudine Goodwin, one son Hamp Goodwin, Jr., one daughter, Shameon Goodwin and one brother Hoover Hamp Goodwin. He leaves to cherish his loving memories; four sons, Dennis Goodwin, Stanley Goodwin, Anthony Goodwin and Michael Goodwin; three daughters, Vernette davis, Beverly Threadgill, Patricia Payne all of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Charley Austin of Dallas, TX and one sister Christine Goodwin Allen of Smackover, AR; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Goodwin will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Sweet Home Baptist Church, Smackover, Arkansas with the Rev. Felton Burgie officiating. Interment will follow in the Hicks Cemetery, Smackover, Arkanss under the direction of The Sims Mortuary Staff.
