Bob Maddox was born April 10, 1937 to Dee & Effie Maddox Sr. in Homer, LA. There were 3 other children, Dee Maddox Jr. Gerrydine Maddox, Louis Maddox – Bob was the last of this vision. His dad passed when he was a young boy and his mother, known as Sweetna remarried Roger Jenkins Sr. We called him “ Daddy Deuce” Daddy Deuce bought to this union 5 siblings, Roger Jenkins Jr, Fred “Paul” Jenkins Sr., Robert Jenkins, Christine Jenkins & James Jenkins. She had hers, He had his, & they had Lila Mae Jenkins, Lizzie Mae Jenkins, Jerry “Peter” Jenkins. They doubled the “Brady Bunch” - Original Blended family. He married at a young age. His Love, Rachel Lee Jones, they were married 33 years. It only ended because of her death May 1990. This union were born 4 beautiful, laughing, smiling daughters; Bobann (Shirley Randle), Effie Dee (Effie Arnold), Miry Jean (Mildred Lark) Gerrydean, (Geraldine Harris). Bob had a house full of Women, they were the Love of his life until the oldest granddaughter was born, Ta’Mesha “Netha” Maddox, then the oldest grandson Brandon Maddox – then the grands outnumbered the children & somehow he managed to show equal love to everybody at Christmas, even the son-in laws, for everyone got $10 each. Bob worked at J. M. Poultry, T P Marks Ford, Jones Kinard Buick – He just didn’t mind working for a living. Bob was well known for his smile, laughter, hats, fishing, dominoes & spade games, oh and yes decorating his car with decals & his yard with “ART”, yes art. Bob accepted Christ at an early age where he attended the family church St. John Baptist in the St. John Community of Homer, LA. He later worshipped at Douglas Chapel till his health failed, although he didn’t join, he considered it home & Rev. Hegler his Pastor, more so because his girls were there. Preceded in death, Parents (Dee Maddox, Effie Wyatt Maddox Jenkins, Stepfather Roger Jenkins, Rachel Jones Maddox (Wife) three (3) sisters, Betty Louise Maddox, Christine Jenkins, Gerrydine Maddox Myles. Four (4) brothers, Dee Maddox Jr., Fred, Roger, Robert Jenkins. Grandsons, Kemis Randle, Bradley Maddox. He leaves to cherish his memory: four daughters, Shirley Randle, Effie Arnold (Titus), Mildred Lark (Jimmy), Geraldine Harris (Paul); eight grandchildren, Ta’Mesha Maddox, Brandon Maddox (Jessie), Brittany Maddox, Jarosky Lark, Bianca Lark, Chloe Arnold, Rachel Arnold, Jamay Lark; nine great-grandchildren, JaDon Curly, Kanedi Savannah, Bryson Green, Brandon Jr., Braylon, Catrell and Nikiya Smith, Zhylan Williams, Bostyn Williams; his siblings, Jerry Jenkins, Lila Jenkins Jackson, Lizzie Jenkins Williams and James Jenkins; nephews, Bennie Dorch ( Like a Son) and Velma Maddox Watts, niece. Public visitation will be Thursday, September 14,2017 from 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm at Sims Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Douglas Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. D. L. Hegler, officiating. Interment in Rest Haven Cemetery under the direction of Sims Mortuary.
