Brenda Dianne “Aunt Nonee” Waters-Lusk, the youngest of 10 siblings was born on June 30, 1962 in El Dorado, Arkansas to the late Albert and Rosetta Waters. She attended the Huttig Public Schools and graduated as Class Salutatorian in 1980. Brenda also attended South Arkansas Community College and earned an Associate Degree in Mathematics in May of 2000. She accept Jesus as her personal savior at an early age and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Huttig, Arkansas. She served as an Usher, a Sunday School Teacher and Choir President. She later united with the New Morning Star Baptist Church of Altheimer, AR and served as a Deaconess and Choir Director. Brenda was employed at the Strong-Huttig School District for 19 years, the Lee County School District for one year, at Murdock Enterprises for 4 years and at the Union County Sheriff’s Office for past five years. Brenda was a cheerful person and had a beautiful personality. She was always positive. Even during her illness, she never complained and continued to work full time until her health would not allow her to do so. She never met a stranger and she was a friend to everyone she met. Brenda was also a co- founder of the Southeast Arkansas Community Mass Choir in 2010. This organization has helped to raise over $50,000 over the past eight years for those who were seriously ill or who were facing other calamities. In 1985, she met Saul Arthur Waymon Lusk, Sr. and to this union, 2 children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Billy Earl Waters and Charles Waters, and two sisters, Geneva Waters and Glenda Sue Waters. She leaves to cherish memories her husband of 32 years, Saul Arthur Waymon Lusk, Sr of El Dorado, AR, one son, Saul Arthur Waymon Lusk, Jr. of El Dorado, AR, one daughter, Rosetta Vhaness Lusk, of El Dorado, AR, one granddaughter, Keniyah Vhaness Lusk of El Dorado, AR, one grandson, Braden Arthur Dewayne Island of El Dorado, AR, five sisters, Annie Ward of Monroe, LA, Evelyn Thrower, of Dallas TX, Alma Rowland (Aubrey) of Huttig, AR, Mae Riley (Donald) of Marion, LA, and Cynthia Johnson (Donald) of Shannon Hills, AR, three Aunts: Dorothy Botley (Herman)of Houston, TX, Roni Jamerson of Houston, TX, and Eula Jamerson of Crossett, AR, one Mother-In-Law, Lucille Vhaness Lusk of Pine Bluff, AR, the church family of the New Morning Star Baptist Church of Altheimer, AR, a host of in laws, nieces and nephews and friends with fond memories of her life. Public visitation will be Friday, September 8, 2017 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive AME Church in Huttig, Arkansas. Body will Lie in State one hour prior to service. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Church of Love in El Dorado, Arkansas with Pastor Willie J. Laws, Sr., eulogist. Interment will be at St. Paul Cemetery No. 1 in Marion, LA under the direction of Sims Mortuary.
