Johnny Carroll Moody

Deacon Johnny Carroll Moody Sr., son of the late Alvin Moody and late Delphine Curley was born Jan 5, 1942 in El Dorado, AR. He professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined Victory Bible Church where he was a dedicated member for over 35 years. He also served faithfully there as a Deacon and Usher. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Joyce Moody on August 12, 1967. This union was blessed with three children. Mr. Moody was a man of few words, but mighty in deeds, he thrived on helping others. As a result of his generous spirit, humbleness, heart of gold and pleasant personality, he was loved by many. His Christian life exemplified the words “Thy good and faithful servant”. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew hi. He quietly departed this life August 26, 2017 at Ouachita County medical Center in Camden, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Joe Carl Moody, and a brother, James Moody. His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his wife of 50 years; his children, Johnny Moody Jr., Joey (Margie) Moody Sr, and Shonda Moody Thurston. 2 sisters Shirley Foster, and Ola Tidwell. 1 brother Lonnie Earl Hicks. 14 grandchildren; Jasmine Thurston, Jarvis Thurston, Jermaine (Camilla) Thurston, Joshua (Destiny) Thurston, Joey Moody Jr., Jacobee (Bruce) Benjamin, Janeisha Moody, Joshua (NeNe) Moody Sr, Sharhonda Moody, Jonathon Moody, Jay Reginal Moody, Jarrod (ShaShauna) Moody, Cory (Nikki) White, and Jacinta Moody. 17 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Public visitation will be Friday, September 1, 2017 from 1pm-6pm at Sims Mortuary. Funeral Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Victory Bible Church in El Dorado with Apostle Robert Green officiating. Pallbearers will be Jarvis Thurston, Joey Moody Jr., Jermaine Thurston, Joshua Moody, Joshua Thurston and Bruce Benjamin. Interment will be at Beulah Grove Cemetery under the direction of Sims Mortuary.
