Mildred Louise Banks was born November 25, 1920 to the union of Garland Ward and Emma Ward in Caladonia, Arkansas. She accepted Christ at an early age. She became a member of Willow Grove Missionary Baptist Church after relocating to Calion. She served as an usher until her health no longer allowed her to do so. Her favorite hobbies were planting flowers and shrubs in her yard, long walks in the woods gathering plants and small trees to plant in her favorite places. She was the best at storytelling; and her children were always fascinated with how she could bring the story to life. Along with raising her eleven children, she was very involved with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great-great grand children. She peacefully passed away on July 24th 2017. She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Banks and three of their children Ira Banks, Jr., Willie Banks and Patricia Ross Riley. She is no longer present in her physical body; we will miss that vibrant smile and those tiny little eyes that could say it all. She leaves to celebrate her life eight children: Gloria Whitney (John Whitney) of Van Alstyne, TX, Etha Burns (Leon Burns) of El Dorado, AR, Carl Banks of Arlington, TX, Joann Williams (Richard Williams) of Calion, AR, Gwendolyn Banks of Calion, AR, Linda Washington (Rudolph Washington) of Lawrenceville, GA, Robert Banks of Little Rock, AR and Vicki Davis of Calion, AR. She also leaves nineteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
