Joe Nathan Walker was born December 20, 1957 in Mt. Holly, Arkansas to John C. and Irene Walker. He departed his life on Saturday, April 22, 2017 in Magnolia, Arkansas. Joe accepted Christ at a tender age and joined Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was a faithful choir member until his health would no longer permit him to sing. He was a 1976 graduate of McRae High School. Joe Nathan was a hard worker; he worked for Willamette Industries in Emerson, Arkansas for several years. Those he truly knew him knew that he was a happy person who loved to entertain his family and friends. The highlight of any party or get-together was when Joe would play his harmonica. He will truly be missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents Irene and John C. Walker and two brothers, Carlton and Royce Walker of Detroit, Michigan. Joe Nathan leaves to cherish his memory; a son Eric Walker of El Dorado, AR and daughter, Crystal Barber of Shreveport, LA; three grandchildren; brothers, Joel Walker, Raymond (Carmelita) Walker, John Charles, Michael Arberry, sisters, Bobbie (Dell) Young, Ruth (James) Harris, Sara (James) Lovette, Johnnie (Joe) McKinney, Maxine (Robert) Jackson, Jeannette (Danny) Mays, Earnestine (Ray) Walker, Pearline Walker, Joanne Walker, Jennifer (Sydney) Hampton, Rosemary Walker and Ruby Walker. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews; one aunt, several cousins and many friends. Public visitation will be Friday, April 28, 2017 from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church in El Dorado with Rev. Felton Burgie, Eulogist.
