"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.." Psalms 23 Sis. Mervilee Carey was born on June 16,1927 in Prescott, Arkansas the daughter of Carl and Ella Mae Tidwell Burton. Mervilee departed this life on Friday, July 10, 2009. She was retired from Hillsboro Nursing Home where she was employed in the Laundry and Housekeeping Department. She is preceded in death by her husband, Troy Carey, her parents, Carl and Ella Mae Burton, a son Darryl Carey and two daughters Joyce Carey and Carolyn Ann Carey; three brothers Carl Burton, Jr., Leon Burton and Roland McKinney. She leaves to cherish her memories six sons, J.W. McKinney of Oakland, California, Retired Sergaent Major Johnny L. Carey and his wife Elvie, of El Dorado, Arkansas, Bobby James Carey and his wife Emma of El Dorado, Arkansas, Retired Staff Sergeant Horace Carey and his wife Diana of Olatha, Kansas, Jimmy Carey of El Dorado, Arkanss, Bobby Joe Carey of Oakland, California; two daughters, Mary Louise Cheeks and her husband DC and Trennia Renae Carey-Minor and her husband James all of El Dorado, Arkansas;two brothers Earnest McKinney of Seattle, Washington and Harold McKinney of Buffalo,New York; three sisters, Carolyn Carter of Atlanta, Georgia and Maxine Brown of Utica, New York and Ellen Richardson of Auburn, New York; a special aunt, Oretta Simmons of Prescott, Arkansas; seventeen grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Homegoing Celebration for Sis. Carey will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Felton Burgie officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in Mt. Holly, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the funeral home will be on Friday, July 17, 2009 from 9am-5pm and Saturday, July 18, from 8:30-9:30am.
