"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want" Psalms 23 "Kooyah Tea" Tion Lemar Thigpen passed away August 4, 2016 in Manila, Phillipines. Tion was born Feb. 9, 1977 in El Dorado, AR to the union of Tom and Jill Avery Thigpen. After moving to Dumfries, VA. Tion graduated from Hylton and Sr. High School in 1995 and continued his education at NCC College, VA. Tion served in the United States Navy for 6 years. After being medically discharged, he traveled the world, where he finally found a home in the Phillipines in Miag-ao. Tion had a love for all sports and helped organize a community basketball tournament called the Miag-ao Sports Challenge. As of August 6th, 2016, in Tion's memory, this is now called The Kooya Tea Tournament after his chosen Facebook name, meaning elder brother. Interment will follow in the Arlington Memorial Gardens, El Dorado, Ar under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday, August 19, 2016 from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.
