"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith...II Timothy 4:7 Brother Destory Cleon Sprigner was born on March 24, 1939 in El Dorado, Arkansas, the son of Paul and Earnestine(Andrews) Springer. At an early age, he united with Lee Chapel A.M.E. Church and subsequently became part of St. Vestal C.M.E. Church family, located in El Dorado, Arkansas. He loved the Lord, his family,l pastor,l choir and the church family. He was a graduate of Washington High School, class of 1957. Shortly after high school, he matriculated to Grambling State University in Louisiana. He was employed by High Capacity, Schneider Trucking Company, Georgia-Pacific, AmerCable, CADC and El Dorado School District as a teacher and bus driver. He united in Holy Matrimony to Minnie Malone and to this union they were blessed with three children, Sharon, Steven and Mia. Destory was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Roosevelt and Effie Smith, his sister, Shirley Brown and brother Brodrick Springer. He leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife, Minnie F. Springer; one son, Steven(Giselle)Springer of El Dorado, Arkansas; two daughters, Mia D.(George) Daniels of El Dorado, Arkansas and Sharon R. Springer of Little Rock, Arkansas; other siblings, Dwight, Yolanda, Tonya, Tory and Wayne all of California; one sister, Gloria Springer of Little Rock, Arkansas; sister-in-laws; Barbara Brown of Little Rock, Arkansas, Linda F. Gafford and Dewanda J. McHenry of El Dorado, Arkansas; a special brother-in-law, Rev. Larry Brown of Little Rock, Arkansas; a special friend, David Ross and a host of other relatives and friends. A homegoing celebration for Bro. Springer will be held on Saturday,February 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Vestal C.M.E. Church with Pastor Monteal Rhynes officiating. Interment will follow in the Lott Burgy Cemetery under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Vistation at the funeral home will be Friday,February 6, 2009 from 9am-5pm.
