Berist Evelyn Jackson

"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want." Psalms 23 Berist Evelyn Jackson, 90 departed this life peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born on November 27, 1924 in Malvern, Arkansas the daughter of Sylvester and Lola Tyree Harris. Berist was a member of First Baptist Church of Smackover, where she served as a Deaconess and a Youth Leader. She is survived by one son, Wilfred Jackson of North Little Rock; three daughters Sharon Jackson and Marion Jackson-Moore of Oakland, California and Rithea Jackson of Little Rock; one brother Carl Harris of Smackover; one sister, Nella Harris-James of Chicago, IL; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation at the funeral home will be on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. A family hour will be on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Smackover, AR Funeral services will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church-Smackover with Rev. Calvin Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in the Hicks Cemetery, Smackover, AR under the directon of the Sims Mortuary Staff.
