John Michael Harris, 55, of El Dorado, AR was born on March 23, 1960 in El Dorado, AR the son of Johnnie Lee "J. L." and Magdalene Shears Harris. John accepted Christ at an early age and united with First Baptist Church on Cordell, El Dorado. John attended school in the El Dorado School District where he played football and became known as "Big John". He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Linda Kay Harris-Brazle and Janice Harris-Jefferson; great-grandparents Frank and Ella Phillips; his grandparents, Willie Monroe and Bami Harris, Dock and Girtha Phillips-Shears; and three nephews. He is survived by his son, Marco Lee of Texas; eight sisters, Betty Tucker of Montella, AR, Laura Nell Johnson, Elnora Harris, Mary Jean Johnson, La Shaa Montgomery and Loretta Whatley all of El Dorado, AR. Toni Bridget Perry of Mayflower, AR and Phoebe Harris of Manassas, VA. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Paradise Baptist Church, 729 Marsh, El Dorado, AR with Rev. Michael Pierce officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home nor at the service. He was cremated under the direction of Sims Mortuary.
